For Immediate Release NEWS RELEASE
New Version of Internetworking Test Facility (ITFÔ )
Adds Latest TN3270E RFC1647 Updates and Year 2000 Compliance
GARLAND, Texas, March 12, 1998 -- Applied Computer Technology (ACT) has released a new version of ITF, its TN3270x and TN5250 testing software. New features in ITF Version 8331 include tests for the latest TN3270E RFC1647 revisions and Year 2000 compliance. These features provide ITF users with the latest testing technology to develop, validate, and evaluate TN3270 and TN5250 hardware and software products.

ITF Testing Configuration and Capabilities
ITF is an automated TCP/IP TN3270x, TN3287, and TN5250 product testing tool designed to perform verification, functionality, and performance tests. ITF is completely non-intrusive and does not require the introduction of additional internal hardware or software to the Implementation Under Test (IUT). ITF provides extensive libraries of ready-to-run tests and allows development of additional tests using an open API.
The following features are also included in the new release: data-stream-flush function tests, suppress-byte-doubling function tests, TN5250 Telnet verification tests, additional host emulation screens and functions, and a color coded log/trace file viewer.
"ACT provides complete IBM emulation testing without all the hardware", said Fran Corbett, a developer with FTP Software. "You can't match the test capability of this product without buying hundreds of thousands of dollars of equipment, and then the MIS group to support it." "A great development and support tool as well."
All customers covered by ACT's annual maintenance agreement will automatically receive the update.
ITF pricing is based on the number of systems per site licensed, and starts at $14,000 for a single user license. The system includes tests for TN3270, TN3270E, TN5250, IND$FILE, LU1/LU3 Printer, EHLLAPI, Multi-Session, Command/Order, Extended Data Stream and Load/Stress testing using the LAN (Token Ring or Ethernet), SLIP, and PPP protocols.
Applied Computer Technology (ACT), founded in 1981, provides testing software and services for SNA and TCP/IP networks. ACT's other testing products include: SDTF, an SNA network testing tool and SNAsim, an SNA host simulator.
